Pakistan-China friendship is deep rooted and eternal. This friendship is rooted in the hearts of people of the two countries. The all-weather strategic cooperation relationship has stood the test of time. Over the time, the bilateral cooperation between China and Pakistan has witnessed new culmination with addition of new dimensions of cooperation in multifaceted sectors under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, a principle strategic component of Belt and Road Initiative. We greatly value the continued support of H.E. President Xi Jinping and H.E. Prime Minister Li Qiang to Pakistan. We are committed to ensure the high quality development of CPEC initiatives with ‘Pakistan speed’ and take it forward to new heights.
Mr. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif
Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Official Message
First, we should strengthen mutual assistance and deepen strategic cooperation. We should keep the good tradition of frequent high-level visits and meetings, work together on major strategic issues, and support each other on issues involving our respective core interests and major concerns. Second, we should advance our shared interests and achieve common development. We should use China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to drive our practical cooperation with focus on Gwadar Port, energy, infrastructure development and industrial cooperation so that the fruits of its development will reach both all the people in Pakistan and the people of other countries in our region. Third, we should enhance close exchanges to build lasting friendship. This year is the Year of China-Pakistan Friendly Exchanges. We should conduct diverse and colorful events of celebration and encourage more contacts and exchanges between young Chinese and Pakistanis. In the next five years, China will provide 2,000 training opportunities for Pakistan and train 1,000 Chinese language teachers for Pakistan. Fourth, we should stick together in face of difficulty and jointly meet security challenges. China will work with Pakistan to tackle non-traditional security threats so as to provide a reliable security guarantee for bilateral economic cooperation and common development. The Chinese nation loves peace. China will continue to pursue win-win cooperation and enhance friendship and cooperation with other countries. It will stay committed to the policy of affinity, sincerity, mutual-benefit and inclusiveness. It will deepen win-win cooperation with its neighbors so as to deliver more benefits to them through its own development. China will continue to pursue a win-win strategy for opening-up to build an open economy. This will create new development opportunities and space to both Asia and the world. We will strengthen cooperation with countries along the land and maritime Silk Roads, so as to jointly build an open platform for cooperation and create new impetus to achieve sustainable development in the related regions. To build a China-Pakistan community of shared destiny is a strategic decision made by our two governments and peoples. Let us work together to create an even brighter future for China and Pakistan
Mr. Xi Jin ping
President of China Official Message
Then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, paid a visit to China where the historic MoU for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was signed on 5th July 2013 in the presence of the Prime Ministers of both countries. This MoU kick-started a series of economic activities which can prove to be a game-changer for the entire region and uplift the lives of about 3 billion people across China, Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East. The all weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two nation has been broadened under the CPEC framework which is principle strategic component of President Xi’s Belt and Road Initiative. With concerted efforts from the leadership of both nations, the first phase of CPEC has successfully been completed. CPEC has stepped into its second phase which entails multiple new sectors of cooperation, including industrial development, agricultural, science and information technological cooperation among others.  CPEC is reflection of enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, a partnership deeply rooted in mutual trust, respect, and shared aspirations. At its core, CPEC embodies the vision of connectivity, development, and economic empowerment for our people. It is a catalyst for job creation, skill development, and technology transfer, empowering our youth and fostering innovation-led growth. Through strategic collaboration with Chinese partners, we are nurturing human capital, enhancing productivity, and equipping our workforce with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century global economy. CPEC is more than just a corridor of roads and bridges; it is a pathway to prosperity, stability, and shared prosperity for generations to come. The global economic landscape has changed dramatically. The main drivers of this change have been technology, trade liberalization, free capital movements, advances in communication and transportation infrastructure, and creation of cross border supply chains. The centre of gravity of the world economy has shifted to the east with the emerging economies growing at a much faster pace than the developed economies. Regional cooperation agreements have proliferated and strengthened in recent times to capture this change especially in the global economic landscape. At this historic juncture let’s resolve to stand together as a nation in warmly welcoming our Chinese counterparts and creating an enabling environment for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor to fulfill our ambition of making it one of 21st Century’s most transformational projects.
Mr. Ahsan Iqbal
Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Official Message
China and South Asia have been connected for centuries through the Ancient Silk Road. It is gratifying to see these ties continue to deepen and expand. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) represents a shining example and contemporary edition of the Silk Road oriented towards greater regional connectivity and economic integration. CPEC has and will create new opportunities for development and livelihoods, strengthen economic, trade, transit and people to people connectivity. The up-gradation of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) further fosters connectivity between Pakistan, China, Arabian Sea and with South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia. Meanwhile, Gwadar port represents a catalyst for regional trade and prosperity. Rooted in shared aspirations for peace, development, and shared prosperity, Pakistan-China relations continue to grow from strength to strength. This year marks the 75th anniversary of Pakistan -China diplomatic relations. Both countries, leadership and our people are resolved to take this unique partnership to even greater heights in the years and decades ahead. Long live Pakistan-China friendship!

Gwadar is not merely a port city; it is the gateway to a new era of economic transformation, regional connectivity, and shared prosperity. Through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Gwadar has emerged as a symbol of opportunity, linking continents, markets, and people through a vision of sustainable growth and development. Today, we stand at a historic moment where investment, infrastructure, innovation, and international cooperation are creating unprecedented opportunities for the people of Balochistan and Pakistan. The success of Gwadar is not measured only by roads, ports, and industries, but by the empowerment of local communities, the creation of jobs, and the promise of a brighter future for coming generations. As stakeholders in this journey, we must continue to promote unity, stability, and a business-friendly environment that attracts global investors and strengthens regional partnerships. Together, we can transform Gwadar into a world-class economic hub and a beacon of prosperity for South Asia, Central Asia, and beyond. The future belongs to those who build it today and Gwadar is building the future.
Sardar Shaukat Popalzai
President, Balochistan Economic Forum
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a major and pilot project of the Belt and Road Initiative, to which the leaders of our two countries have attached great importance and rendered active promotion. It has also won the across-board support from our two peoples as it aims to provide new opportunities to the citizens as well as bring new impetus and vision to China-Pakistan friendship. CPEC is a long-term and systematic project to promote economic cooperation through collaboration on Gwadar port, energy, transportation infrastructure and industrial cooperation. CPEC will bring solid benefits to our two peoples. With the completion of energy and infrastructure projects, conditions in Pakistan will improve. There will be more electricity integrated into national grid and the electricity supply will be more stable. People will enjoy more convenient transportation and a better livelihood. Alongside the major projects, we are setting up social welfare institutions, especially in Gwadar, in the form of primary school, vocational training center, and hospital with Chinese government’s grant. We will also provide KPK province with medical, educational and training projects in line with the need of local people, to translate the benefits of CPEC immediately among them. For average persons, the outcomes of the CPEC are tangible, accessible and enjoyable to hundreds of thousands families across the country.
